CHRIS MADDEN WINS $20K TURKEY 100!
November 30, 2014 - Chris Madden and his #44 team closed out their 2014 racing season in style over the November 28-29 weekend by recording a huge $20,000 triumph in the annual running of the 'Turkey 100' at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia! On Friday night, Chris knocked down the fastest lap overall of the 62 entrants during Crate Late Model qualifying and later scored the win in heat race action. After starting Saturday's 100-lap headliner from the pole position, Chris led most of the 'Turkey 100' to pick up his tenth victory of the 2014 campaign. Following Madden's #44 car across the finish line was Jonathan Davenport, Ross Bailes, Kyle Bronson, and Jordy Nipper! MADDEN FLEXES MUSCLE AT CHARLOTTE
November 9, 2014 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) traveled to the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina from November 6-8 for the 8th Annual 'World of Outlaws World Finals.' The final two events of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series campaign paid $12,000 to the winner and attracted a stellar field of 77 entrants. On Thursday night, Chris Madden posted the third quickest lap in Group B during qualifying for Friday's program and the fastest time in Group B for Saturday's showdown.
In front of a huge Charlotte crowd over the weekend, Chris won his stacked heat race on Friday evening and later led laps 2-49 of the feature event. Unfortunately, "Smokey" was passed on the final circuit in lapped traffic by Darrell Lanigan and was forced to settle for a runner-up performance. On Saturday, Chris once again took the win in heat race action prior to winding up eighth in the final rundown of the 50-lap headliner. CHRIS MADDEN RUNNER-UP IN NATIONAL 100
November 3, 2014 - Chris Madden and his #44 team invaded the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on November 1-2 for the 40th edition of the 'National 100.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model special drew 33 competitors to EAMS to vie for the hefty $20,000 top prize. On Saturday evening, Chris knocked down the fourth quickest lap during the qualifying session and later scored the win in his heat race over Don O'Neal, Tim McCreadie, and Austin Smith. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in Sunday's 100-lap headliner, Chris fell back early in the race, but charged all the way up to second at the checkers to finish an impressive runner-up behind only victor Jonathan Davenport.
In other action during the 'National 100' weekend, Chris entered the Crowder Trucking #6 entry in the CT 525 Late Model division. "Smokey" set Fast Time during qualifying on Friday before leading the first half of Saturday's $3,000 to win main event. At the conclusion of the 30-lapper, Chris was second behind only race winner Ryan Gifford. MADDEN GETS TOP FIVE IN BLUE/GRAY 100
October 26, 2014 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) made the short tow to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on October 24-25 for a pair of Southern Nationals Bonus Races. On Friday night in the $7,000 to win 'Robert Pursley Memorial,' Chris Madden brought home a strong seventh place effort in the evening's 40-lap main event. At Cherokee on Saturday evening, the 24th Annual 'Blue/Gray 100' took place and a $10,000 winner's check was on the line. Chris ran second in his loaded heat race prior to grabbing a fourth place performance in the 100-lapper behind only victor Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport, and Casey Roberts. October 12, 2014 - Gray Court, South Carolina star Chris Madden hooked back up with the Crowder Trucking team to pick up the ninth win of his 2014 campaign on Saturday night, October 11 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama! Chris laid down the fourth quickest lap in Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series qualifying, which locked him into the outside of the second row for the start of the 'Dega 100.' MADDEN WINS DIXIE SHOOTOUT AGAIN!
October 6, 2014 - Chris "Smokey" Madden claimed his second straight 'Dixie Shootout' title on Saturday evening, October 4 at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia! After posting the second quickest lap in Group B during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session, Chris won his heat race to earn the fourth starting spot in the 50-lap headliner. Chris then worked his way past leader Dale McDowell to grab the point on lap 33 and led the remainder of the distance to bag the $10,000 payday ahead of McDowell, Don O'Neal, Steve Francis, and Jimmy Owens!
A night later, the #44 team was in the pit area at the ultra-fast Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on Sunday for the annual running of the 'Rome Showdown.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the battle at Rome and another $10,000 top prize was on the line. Chris clicked off the fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later placed second in his heat race. BUSY WEEKEND FOR MADDEN AT EAMS
September 29, 2014 - Chris Madden, of Gray Court, South Carolina, enjoyed a very busy weekend (September 26-28) during the 36th Annual 'Alabama State Championship' at the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama, as he competed with both the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series and the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS). Driving a #6 Barry Wright entry for Crowder Trucking in the Chevy 525 Series, Chris set Fast Time on Friday during qualifying and later led all thirty circuits of the headliner to claim the $2,000 top prize over Jake Knowles, Ronnie Johnson, Ryan King, and Ray Cook! On Saturday evening, Chris qualified second fastest in time trials and was leading on lap 11 of the $3,000 to win feature before an untimely flat right rear tire dropped him to a disappointing twentieth place performance.
Behind the wheel of his familiar #44 ride during SAS action, Chris had his sights set on the $4,000 top prize on both Saturday and Sunday. "Smokey" laid down the quickest lap during the qualifying session on Saturday night, but later suffered problems during the 40-lapper and retired in the twenty-second position. In Sunday afternoon's 'Alabama State Championship' finale at EAMS, Chris placed an impressive third in the final finishing order behind only victor Randy Weaver and runner-up Riley Hickman. September 21, 2014 - Chris Madden and his #44 CMR team were back in racing action on Saturday evening, September 20 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) presided over the 'King of the Mountain Fall Classic,' which boasted a $5,000 payday. Chris laid down the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session and later started the 40-lap headliner from the pole position. After leading much of the caution-free affair, Chris lost the top spot to eventual winner Randy Weaver with only three circuits remaining and settled for a strong runner-up performance. STRONG WEEKEND FOR #44 TEAM AT ELDORA
September 7, 2014 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) invaded the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 4-6 for the 44th edition of the 'World 100.' Things kicked off at the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which paid $5,000 to the winner. On Thursday night, Chris Madden won his heat race and led laps 7-14 of his 25-lap main event before eventually netting a fourth place performance behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Kent Robinson, and Tim McCreadie. At Eldora on Friday evening, Chris once again won his heat race prior to placing fifth in his 25-lapper behind only victor Jonathan Davenport, Scott Bloomquist, Brian Birkhofer, and Billy Moyer.
The stakes were much higher on Saturday at Eldora Speedway and Chris was all-in gunning for the prestigious globe trophy and the $47,000 winner's check in the 'World 100.' The Gray Court, South Carolina star won his heat race for the third straight night on Saturday by besting Bobby Pierce, Darrell Lanigan, and Jimmy Owens. After starting the 100-lap grind from the inside of the second row, Chris fought a tight racecar throughout the race and eventually claimed a respectable eleventh place effort.
