CHRIS BAGS $12,500 AT SMOKY MOUNTAIN!
March 8, 2014 - Current National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) point leader Chris Madden continues to be red hot to start his 2014 racing season, as he picked up the $12,500 victory in the 'Tennessee Tipoff Classic' finale tonight at Smoky Mountain Speedway! Chris laid down the third fastest lap in Group B during NDRL time trials prior to scoring the win in heat race action. The Gray Court, South Carolina ace then drew the third starting spot leading into the 60-lap main event and eventually wrestled the top spot away from Billy Moyer, Jr. on lap 44. March 7, 2014 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) kicked off the 'Tennessee Tipoff Classic' weekend tonight at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee, as the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) presided over a $7,500 to win program. Chris Madden timed in third quickest in Group B during the qualifying session and later claimed a dominating heat race triumph. After drawing the third starting spot prior to the 40-lap feature event, Chris grabbed the second position shortly before the halfway mark of the caution-free affair and eventually recorded a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Dale McDowell!
MADDEN WINS $17,017 BAMA BASH AT EAMS!!!
March 2, 2014 - "Smokey" Chris Madden continued the stellar start to his 2014 campaign over the February 28-March 2 weekend, as he claimed his second feature win of the young season in the 17th Annual 'Bama Bash' at the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama! On Friday night, Chris laid down the fastest lap in his group during National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) qualifying and later scored the win in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in Saturday's 75-lap 'Bama Bash,' Chris paced the strong field on two different occasions from laps 29-45 and 55-75. The Gray Court, South Carolina star beat Jonathan Davenport, Clint Smith, Scott Bloomquist, and Don O'Neal to the checkers at EAMS to pocket the huge $17,017 payday!
The big weekend for the #44 team then concluded today with a trip to the renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina for the annual running of 'March Madness.' Chris timed in eleventh quickest during the qualifying session prior to finishing third in his heat race behind only prelim victor Casey Roberts and runner-up Brent Dixon. He then started the $10,000 to win feature event from the inside of the sixth row, picked off seven competitors during the 60-lapper, and was paid for a solid fourth place performance behind only winner Jonathan Davenport, Steve Francis, and Jason Hiett. SUPER BOWL OF RACING NIGHTLY RESULTS
February 8, 2014 - Chris Madden and his #44 CMR team wrapped up the three-day 'Super Bowl of Racing' tonight at Golden Isles Speedway, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over another $10,000 to win televised showdown. Chris laid down the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session, but a crank trigger issue in the heat race dropped him to a fourth place finish. After starting the 50-lap main event from the outside of the seventh row, Chris vaulted to as high as seventh by the midway point in the race. Unfortunately, more mechanical woes sent the Gray Court, South Carolina ace pitside and relegated him to a disappointing eighteenth place effort.
February 7, 2014 - Chris Madden, of Gray Court, South Carolina, picked up his first victory of the 2014 campaign tonight in the 'Super Bowl of Racing' nightcap at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia! Chris clicked off the quickest lap in Group A during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later scored the win in his heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature event from the pole position, Chris dominated much of the televised race before a deflating right rear tire made things interesting late in the affair. February 7, 2014 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) kicked off their 2014 campaign earlier this afternoon in the rain-postponed $5,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series lid lifter at Golden Isles Speedway. Chris Madden qualified second fastest in Group B during time trials and later scored the win in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 25-lap main event, Chris hung around the top five throughout the race and eventually claimed a sixth place performance behind only winner Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard, Earl Pearson, Jr., Billy Moyer, Jr., and Tim McCreadie.
February 6, 2014 - Tonight's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season opener at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia has been postponed until tomorrow morning due to persistent rain showers. The $5,000 to win event tomorrow morning will serve as the first race in a big doubleheader at GIS, as the regularly scheduled $10,000 to win showdown will be held in the evening.
