June 15, 2016 - The #44 team invaded the nearby Laurens County Speedway in Laurens, South Carolina on Tuesday, June 14 for the annual running of the 'Shrine Race.' The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series sanctioned the show and a $3,500 winner's check was on the line. Chris Madden laid down the fourth fastest time during the qualifying session and later started the 35-lapper from the outside of the second row. "Smokey" was able to move up a couple of spots during the headliner to claim an impressive runner-up showing behind only victor Ross Bailes. TOP TEN FOR MADDEN IN DREAM XXII
June 12, 2016 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) made the trek to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 9-11 for the 22nd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Things got underway at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Chris Madden grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race prior to finishing fourteenth in the $5,000 to win main event. In Friday's $10,000 to win show, Chris posted the fastest lap of the 72 entrants during qualifying, got into the wall during his heat race, and won his B-Main before blasting up to tenth in the 25-lap sprint.
When Saturday evening rolled around at the "Big E," a whopping $100,000 payday was on the line in 'Dream XXII.' Chris earned the third and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the eighth row in the 100-lap headliner. During the course of the extra-distance affair, "Smokey" was able to move past seven competitors on his way to a solid ninth place showing. #44 TEAM INVADES PEACH STATE
May 30, 2016 - Chris Madden and his #44 team entered the final three Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour events of 2016 over the May 27-29 weekend in the Peach State of Georgia. On Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, a $4,000 top prize was up for grabs in the weekend opener. Chris posted the fastest lap overall of the 46 entrants during the qualifying session, but did not start the fast dash. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 40-lap headliner, Chris was running in the second position before suffering mechanical woes on the eighth circuit, which dropped the Gray Court, South Carolina ace to a disappointing twentieth place performance.
At Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, another $4,000 winner's check was on the line. Chris won his consolation event before eventually recording a solid sixth place effort in the 40-lapper behind only race winner Mike Marlar, Casey Roberts, Dale McDowell, Derek Ellis, and Austin Smith. In the $6,000 to win weekend finale on Sunday at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, "Smokey" placed third in his B-Main and was up inside of the top three in the 50-lap feature before a flat tire relegated him to a fourteenth place showing. May 15, 2016 - Next up for the Chris Madden Racing (CMR) team was a visit to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on May 13-14 for the inaugural running of the 'Buckeye Nationals.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the two-day extravaganza, which boasted a whopping $50,000 payday and drew a stellar field of 49 entrants. Chris Madden knocked down the second quickest lap in Group A during Friday's qualifying session prior to scoring an impressive heat race triumph. After starting Saturday's 75-lap headliner from the inside of the second row and officially leading laps 2-7, Chris settled for a strong fourth place effort behind only victor Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport, and Josh Richards. May 8, 2016 - Chris Madden Racing (CMR) invaded Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on May 6-7 for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series shootouts. On Friday night at "The Pond," Chris Madden timed in fourth quickest in qualifying prior to placing second in his heat race and advancing up to second in the 50-lapper to finish behind only race winner Shane Clanton. MADDEN SWEEPS GA WEEKEND FOR $10K!
April 25, 2016 - Chris Madden and his #44 CMR team's 2016 win total now stands at seven following a weekend sweep in the Peach State of Georgia, which netted them another $10,000 in winnings! On Saturday, April 23 at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia, Chris set Fast Time in Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals Series qualifying prior to winning the fast dash. After starting the 50-lapper from the pole position and leading the first 29 circuits, Chris tracked down and passed Shane Clanton on the final lap to garner the $6,000 payday in exciting fashion over Clanton, Tyler Millwood, Brandon Overton, and Donald McIntosh!
On Sunday, April 24, Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia took center stage by hosting the annual running of the 'Rome Rumble,' which was sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. April 17, 2016 - The #44 team was in the pit area over the April 15-16 weekend at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, as the Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour sanctioned the annual running of the 'Spring Thaw.' On Friday night in the $4,000 to win weekend opener, Chris Madden laid down the quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the front row. After pacing the field for the first 22 circuits, Chris unfortunately got into a slowing lapped car and brought out the caution, which ultimately dropped him to a disappointing thirteenth place performance.
At "The Gap" on Saturday evening, Chris rebounded in a big way to score his fifth feature win of the young 2016 racing season! After timing in second quickest in Group B and winning his heat race, Chris took the lead from Dale McDowell on lap 24 and dominated the remainder of the event. The Gray Court, South Carolina star was ahead of Mike Marlar, Dale McDowell, Rick Eckert, and Donald McIntosh on the 60th and final circuit to record the $10,000 windfall! April 3, 2016 - Chris Madden tackled a huge Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader on April 1-2 and emerged victorious in a $10,000 to win showdown on Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia! Chris laid down the quickest lap in Group B during the time trial session prior to picking up the win in heat race action. After starting the 50-lap headliner from the outside of the front row, Chris led each and every circuit of the A-Main to claim the $10,000 windfall ahead of Randy Weaver, Jared Landers, Jonathan Davenport, and Scott Bloomquist!
On Saturday evening at the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama, the annual running of the 'Bama Bash' was held and a $12,000 payday was on the line. Chris posted the third fastest time overall during LOLMDS qualifying and later placed second in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the 60-lap feature, the Gray Court, South Carolina star was up to second in the running order before experiencing troubles and ultimately retiring in the seventeenth position.
