June 22, 2009 - Chris Madden recorded his eighth victory of the 2009 racing season on Friday night, June 19 at the nearby Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina! Chris won his heat race and drew the outside front row starting spot for the 35-lap Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned main event. The driver known as "Smokey" took the lead at the drop of the green flag in the A-Main and never looked back in picking up the $7,000 payday over Dale McDowell, Jimmy Owens, Jeff Cooke, and Scott Bloomquist.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series then took the #44 team to the Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday evening, June 20 for a $10,000 to win show. Chris finished second in heat race action at FMS and later rolled off sixth on the grid in the 50-lap feature event. The Gray Court, South Carolina native was able to gain one position during the A-Main en route to a strong fifth place performance.
